Rabbi Asher Lecture Fund
Established in memory of Rabbi Arnold Asher, this fund is used to hold an annual lecture as part of the Shul’s Adult Education program.

Ashreinu Wall
The Ashreinu Wall is a beautiful tribute display board in our foyer. It is used to commemorate life-cycle events and other joyous milestones in our families’ lives. It features 284 leaves in a stylized tree form and provides a meaningful history of our family life.

Anna Bornstein Schwartz Fund
Fund was established for purpose of subsidizing activities for Senior Adults.

Early Childhood Renewal Fund
The purpose is to provide funding for equipment needed to maintain the center.

Samuel Frank Chesed Fund
This fund provides funding for our Chesed Committee. This includes the provision of shiva meals for the families of congregants and sending gifts to members who are ill, and other items as determined by the Committee.

Sara Goodman Tribute Fund
Members of Sisterhood, and others make contributions to this fund, and tribute cards are sent by a Chairperson of the Sisterhood. Sisterhood donates money to the Synagogue to support a number of special needs: Building, Kitchen equipment, USY, Education scholarships and much more.

Joseph Grand Torah Fund
The fund was established as a scholarship program for young students to pursue educational opportunities to further their Jewish knowledge here or in Israel. Since the early 1990’s, the fund has provided the Synagogue’s contribution towards the Passport to Israel Program, which enables families to enroll in a savings program to fund visits to Israel for Junior and Senior High School students.

H. David Hartstein Flower Fund
Established in memory of H. David Hartstein by his family and friends. Purpose is to provide floral arrangements for the Bimah on Holidays, and other flowers as needed by the congregation.

David Iken Memorial Fund
It is for the purpose of providing support to Youth Group Activities as determined by the Youth Commission.

Faye Keyser Fund
The purpose of the fund is to provide meals for those who cannot otherwise participate in some functions, and to enhance special events at Shaare Zedek, such as the Second Passover Seder, and the Break the Fast on Yom Kippur.

Men's Club
Is a service organization to the shul, the community, and the members of Men's Club. Its objectives are to support the growth of the Conservative movement, grow individually, and partner with the youth as they grow.

Mishloach Manot Project
Purim is a time of fun and celebration. The Development Committee assembles and distributes wonderful goodie baskets to all SZ members, friends, and families.

Music Fund
Provides additional funding for a number of music programs led by our Hazzan such as: Friday night Shabbat Rinah, Shabbat drum and chanting services, Ruach Amcha and more.

Herman Shanker Education Fund
Originally established as a fund to provide equipment as needed by the Religious School.

Buddy and Lillian Spetner Sweet Memories Candy Fund
The fund provides candy for Shabbat and other special occasions.

Sara and Leo Wolf Education Fund
Provides funding for Adult Educational programming, Scholars in Residence and special speakers selected by the rabbi.

I. J. Zuckerman Fund
The fund is used to provide scholarships for study in Israel, and is awarded to students who are members of Shaare Zedek, who apply for scholarships to participate in approved study programs, as determined by the awards committee.

Hazzan’s Discretionary Fund
Funds used at Hazzan’s discretion.

Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund
Funds used at Rabbi’s discretion.

Shaare Zedek General Fund
Funds used for operational expenses of the synagogue.
